Dr Mila Ristić is a specialist in prosthodontics, the field that deals with restoring and replacing teeth: crowns, veneers, bridges and dentures. At a first appointment she asks more than she talks – how you chew, what bothers you when you smile and how much time you have for treatment. Before any filing she makes a trial smile, so you can see the new shape in your own mouth and say what you would change.

She chooses the colour of crowns and veneers together with the patient, in daylight and with the help of photos. When there is a simpler, cheaper option that is good enough, she says so openly. She speaks Serbian, English and German, so she is often the first dentist that patients from German-speaking countries talk to.

I like it when a patient tells me at the trial smile what they don't like, because that is the moment when everything can still be changed.
