Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often by phone and on Viber. If yours is not here, write to us.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book on the website: choose a service, a dentist and a free slot. You can also call us or send a message on Viber or WhatsApp to 060 000 10 01. Your appointment is confirmed once you receive a confirmation email.
Are you open on Saturdays?
Yes, on Saturdays we are open from 9:00 to 15:00. From Monday to Friday we are open from 9:00 to 20:00, and we are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
What if I'm running late?
Call us or send a message as soon as you see you will be late. If you are a few minutes late, we can usually still do everything we planned. If you are running much later, we decide together whether to shorten the visit or move it to another time.
How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?
You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before your appointment, using the link in your confirmation email or by sending a message to 060 000 10 01. If something comes up at the last minute, please still let us know, because that slot can often go to someone with toothache.
Where can I park, and how do I get to you?
Hadži Milentijeva is in parking zone 2, where parking is paid by SMS, and after 18:00 there are usually free spaces in the surrounding streets. The nearest public car park is by the Temple of Saint Sava, about a 10-minute walk away, and the bus and trolleybus stop on Južni bulevar is a 5-minute walk. The clinic is on the ground floor with no steps, so it is wheelchair accessible.
Who can see the information I enter in the questionnaire?
Health information from the questionnaire is a special category of personal data and is kept as part of your medical records. Only the dentists and staff involved in your treatment can see it; we don't use it for advertising and we don't sell it. If you would rather not fill in the questionnaire on the website, you can complete it at the clinic; you can read more about this in our Privacy Policy.
Do I have to pay in advance?
No. There is no online payment on the website, because the exact price is only known after the examination. You pay at the clinic, in Serbian dinars, in cash or by card (Visa, Mastercard, DinaCard).
How much does the first examination cost?
The first examination and treatment plan takes 45 minutes and costs 4,500 RSD. The price includes intraoral camera images. If a panoramic X-ray of the whole jaw (OPG) is needed, it is charged separately at 3,000 RSD.
Can I pay in instalments?
For larger treatments you can pay in instalments with cards from banks that offer this. The number of instalments and the terms are set by the bank, so ask us about the terms before treatment starts.
Do you give a warranty on your work?
For crowns, veneers, bridges and implants, the warranty period and terms are set out in the quote you receive before treatment starts. The warranty usually depends on regular check-ups and good care at home. Teeth, gums and bone are living tissue, so no one can promise a medical outcome in advance, but we tell you openly what affects how long the work will last.
I'm afraid of the dentist. Do you work under anaesthesia?
When it is needed, we work with a local anaesthetic, which means we numb only the part of your mouth we are working on. If you are anxious, tell us at the start: we explain each step before we do it, work more slowly and stop for a break whenever you raise your hand. If you think a local anaesthetic won't be enough for you, tell the dentist at the examination and we will look at the options together.
How long does implant treatment take?
Placing an implant usually takes from half an hour to an hour per implant. After that the bone heals around the implant, most often over three to six months, and only then is the crown made. If bone grafting is needed, the whole process may take longer; you get an exact plan after the consultation with a 3D scan.
Is teeth whitening harmful?
According to research so far, whitening done under a dentist's supervision and after an examination does not damage healthy enamel. The most common side effect is temporary sensitivity to cold, usually for one to three days. We don't recommend it during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for anyone under 18, and fillings, crowns and veneers don't change colour.
Do you see children?
Yes. We see children for examinations, check-ups and treatment, and children under 15 come with a parent or guardian. We recommend a first orthodontic check with Dr Teodora Nikolić at around age seven. At the first visit we don't rush: the child first gets to know the dentist and the chair, and we only do as much as they are ready for.
I live abroad. Which languages can I use with you?
At the clinic we speak Serbian, English and German; Dr Mila Ristić and Dr Teodora Nikolić speak German. Before you come, you can send us X-rays and photos, and after the examination you get a cost estimate with a price range as a PDF. You can have your report and X-rays in English or German.
What is a video consultation and who is it for?
It is a free 15-minute conversation with a dentist over Google Meet. It is useful for questions before you come in, for a second opinion and for patients who live abroad. We don't diagnose over video, but the dentist tells you what should be checked in person and roughly how long treatment would take.
What should I do after a tooth extraction?
For the first 30 minutes, bite firmly on the gauze, and don't eat until the numbness has worn off. On that day don't rinse your mouth, don't smoke and don't drink through a straw, so you don't dislodge the blood clot that protects the wound. Get in touch if the bleeding doesn't stop, if the swelling increases after the third day, or if the pain gets stronger instead of easing after two to three days.
When should I contact you after treatment?
Mild sensitivity or discomfort for a few days after a filling, root canal treatment or a surgical procedure is common. Get in touch if the pain gets stronger instead of easing, if you develop swelling or a temperature, if your bite feels too high after a filling or crown, or if something has come off. Message us on Viber or WhatsApp at 060 000 10 01; you can also send a photo.
