Dental treatment in Belgrade when you live abroad: how to plan your trip
What to send before you travel, how many days to allow for fillings, crowns and implants, and what to keep in mind when you book your flight.

If you live abroad and are planning dental treatment during a stay in Serbia, a good plan made before you travel saves the most time and money. The most common mistake isn't choosing the wrong treatment but a schedule that is too tight. Here is how to avoid it.
Before you buy your ticket
- Send what you already have. X-rays of your teeth taken within the last year, reports from your dentist and a few photos of your smile taken on your phone. You can send them by email or via Viber or WhatsApp.
- Fill in the health questionnaire. Chronic conditions, medicines and allergies can change the plan, especially for surgical procedures.
- Book a video consultation. It takes 15 minutes, runs on Google Meet and is free. The dentist can't diagnose over a screen, but will tell you what needs to be checked in person and roughly how long treatment might take.
After that you know roughly how many days to plan for. You get the exact plan and a price range after the examination at the clinic, as a PDF by email.
How many days to allow
These are rough ranges; your plan may be shorter or longer.
- Fillings, root canal treatment, tartar removal. Usually everything fits into one stay of a few working days. Root canal treatment sometimes needs two visits a few days apart.
- Crowns and veneers. Usually one stay of about 7 to 10 days: examination and preparation of the teeth, temporary restorations, a try-in and finally cementing. The dental lab needs a few days between visits to make the work.
- Implants. Usually two trips. On the first, the implant is placed, which together with the examination and a check-up takes a few days. The bone then heals, usually over three to six months, and you come back for about a week for the crown.
Don't book your flight for the same day as a surgical procedure or the cementing of crowns. A spare day leaves time for small adjustments to your bite.
Practical matters
- We are open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 20:00 and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 15:00. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays, which is worth keeping in mind if you are coming around a holiday.
- From Nikola Tesla Airport to Vračar usually takes 25 to 40 minutes by car, depending on traffic.
- You pay at the clinic, in Serbian dinars, in cash or by card. Foreign cards work, and your bank handles the conversion.
- In summer and before the New Year holidays, appointments usually fill up faster, so it is best to get in touch a few weeks ahead.
- If you take blood thinners or have a chronic condition, bring a list of your medicines and your most recent test results.
When you get back home
You receive a report and X-rays in English or German to show your dentist. The warranty terms for the work are set out in the quote you receive before treatment starts. If a problem comes up after you get home, send us a message and a photo on Viber or WhatsApp, and we will decide together whether it can wait until your next trip or whether it is better to see a dentist where you live.
